L3 Curriculum changes from 2015 to 2016

Relatively speaking the curriculum changes between 2015 and 2016 are small to non-existent for L3. That’s good news for those retaking the test.

The most noticeable change is that the specific sample cases for Ethics have been condensed from two readings (The Consultant) and Pearl Investment Management A/B/C) into just one reading titled ‘Applications of the Codes and Standards.’ Since the material is basically the same this is really a cosmetic difference.

The only LOS to actually change is within Reading 4 regarding the Asset Manager Code of Conduct. The new LOS presents requires that a Candidate be able to explain the purpose of the asset manager code of conduct and the benefits to a firm of adopting the code. Nothing that seems particularly likely to show up on the exam there.

Otherwise the Learning Outcome Statements remain unchanged, and the material within the different LOS have only minor tweaks.
